Waqt to lagta hi hein ( It takes time )
The original World Trade Centre opened in 1973. It was suddenly destroyed in 2001. Pulled down to ashes and rubble.
Its November, 2014 - the grand tower is still being reinstated ..hopefully again in all its glory....
Waqt to lagta hi hein ( it definitely takes time )
Similarly, like that tall tower, when long standing associations/ relationships crumble...suddenly.... it takes a lot of time for the dust to settle. The muck remains around for a long time.... people don't find it comfortable to come close to the site of the fallen edifice.
There is a ripple effect on all other linked relationships, that get strained...stretched.....that don't know how to react to the fall, the severance.....now that skyline is disturbed...changed. And those around need to get used to this new horizon. Again, more adjustments are called for ... as those who care and those who don't, try to align to the new scheme of things. It is really tough not only for those in the centre of the change, the transition, but also those around them.....we tend to forget that!
My past few troubled months have taught me that when suddenly missiles appear out of the blue and bring your tower crashing, primarily, you have to give it time.... time for yourself, time for those that matter to you. You have to learn to not seek all answers - some are not there, some are not worth having. You have to learn to adjust, to allow others to adjust. You have to take 1 day at a time, focussing on what still lies within your control. You have to be open to change, to doing things differently, to adjust to a new chapter and gradually it becomes a new way of life....
Till then, you just need to pull yourself together, keep a brave front and keep working on your plan, at your pace.....
As one friend told me when my tower was first hit, you have to give yourself time. And that time....will heal everything, as they say.
I am sure they are right.
Par thoda waqt to lagta hi hein (yet, it will take a while...)
