Introducing Meira .... the restless spirit

These are sad times for those who love wanderlust, for those who seek to be wild and free....

But how can you hold back the soaring spirit - Covid or otherwise?

Hence "Meira" - my restless spirit - who has used these restrictives times to soar through her travel archives, to look at her personal journey across geographies, sometimes solo, sometimes with loved ones - to reflect on all she has learnt from her recent wanderings and how it has helped her become who she is, now.

And so Meira begins .....

"There are some people who are meant to grow strong roots to a place and build beautiful things there, including a home full of warmth and love. Then there are others who even when having to stay in one locale, feel the winds calling their name everyday, with promise of the new.

I belong to the latter. Period.

Life had kept me focussed and based in the desert for many years, feeding the wanderlust in my soul with little drops - few and far in between. I will  however, not complain as those years built me and those who tied me down taught me about love.

Then, in 2014, things changed dramatically. The sudden changes stung , but I was firm in my belief that Life was leading me to something. And sure it did. One by one, I lost my shackles and became light enough to fly, nay, to soar high…. As I have always wanted to!

In the next 5 years, I traveled like never before, like I always wanted to. Almost every trip came along with wondrous learnings that helped shape the present me. I count my blessings as I share some of what I brought home, each time in this 8 parts memoir.

Today, when traveling the way we used to, seems a remote possibility, at best, may these wanderings and their lessons give you hope that we will fly again.

We just have to keep that faith!"
