You don't know who will walk in ...

Today, our rescued pet pup turned 1.

Last Oct, when the world was still heaving under CoVid stress, a 9 week Luke ran to me when we went to the dog shelter. Little did I expect to bring home a pup even one day before that - in fact, I constantly battled against the idea - thinking it will weigh me down when I was ready to break free.

But Life reminded me .... that you never really know who walks into your lives at which corner of life .... and changes everything.

Looking back, I realize how much Luke has grounded, balanced and filled even the smallest crevice of my heart with his love, zest for live and healing energy. Probably I needed that for this new chapter in my life. This little unit we have formed over the last 10 months - between him, my daughter and myself - feels real and warm. I have loved watching the changing dynamics between my daughter and myself as she learns to be responsible for another soul who depends on her and adores the ground she walks on. That little bundle has helped us both evolve.

And I remain grateful and thankful to have received him into our hearts and our lives.

We never really know who waits for us - just around the corner - and what he / she can bring to our lives. They could have the potential to transform our lives or maybe to teach us a simple lesson that we need to learn. We have no control, really - but I have seen that Life brings us exactly what we need - if we allow it to and trust the Universe.

All we need to do is to keep moving down the road, with an open mind and trust that whoever walks in or for that matter, walks out of our journeys - does so for a reason.

Like meandering rivers, our paths may meet, separate and maybe meet again - but we need to always bear in mind that we all have our own routes and that the Universe will always conspire to get us those we need as we move along.

We must remember to appreciate those we have around, now - for we know not when they may have to go.

We need to learn to appreciate the graces bestowed upon on us, now - for we know not when they may be taken away.

So .....

why don't we remain open to what might be - accept change when it comes upon us - knowing deep within that it will either take you higher or closer to where you need to be?

why don't we just accept people when they walk into our lives and build new ties with the belief that they might help us evolve as better individuals?

why don't we let go of those that walk away either by choice or due to Providence - holding on to all the happy memories that we created together and trusting that their parts in your life may be over, for now?

You can't control who walks in ..... you can't control who walks away ....

But you can make the most of today and the most of our existing happy relationships....

And remain open to more of the good stuff as we continue to walk ahead!

Onwards and upwards, always <3
