Reconnecting .....
Wow! I hadn't realized it was that long since I last passed by here .....
So this is to reconnect.
With you.
And with me.
We all tend to get busy, with work, kids, responsibilities, chores, life. In a way, we welcome that for we believe it defines us, makes us who we are. Maybe that's why we keep looking at our smartphones whenever we have a spare moment - because we need to seen to be busy, right? Somewhere there's a strong link, I feel, to self worth.
Ofcourse, there's nothing wrong with that. Especially if that makes you happy. The here and the now is important; but you do run the risk of losing yourself in the race - and when Life finally does give you the opportunity to slow down, you look back and whoa! little drops of regrets begin to seep in ..... wish I had done more of that, less of this, so on and so forth. But alas, a tad too late maybe?
Which brings me back to what I am doing this morning - reconnecting......
I believe it's critical to periodically keep reconnecting with:
- your dreams, your aspirations, your goals
- things that make you happy, put a smile on your face, no matter what
- your loved ones that you don't see as often as you would like to
- most importantly, you
And I don't mean it like just as a way of life but like an exercise that we all need to built into our smartphone based calendars..... we need to block some time off every week/month/quarter with a task that says "RECONNECT".
Lock yourself in your private space - leave the here and now, gently but firmly, outside.
Be conscious of how much time you have the luxury of giving yourself, but for those moments, let nothing else come between you .... and you.
Be calm, introspect, say Hello to your soul again, and let it out of yourself, simply watching where it takes you.
Follow it silently with faith.
I believe our souls know so much more; they can be the beacons we expect to find everywhere else.
So I encourage you to ask yourself -
How often do you reconnect with your soul?
How often do you take a break from your routine to follow an unchartered path that once enticed you?
How often do you reach out for what matters to you - loved ones, passions - in the midst of the grind we all manage to get ourselves into?
If you are important to you - and you should be - isn't this a routine that you should built into your schedule?
Blogging is, for me, one of the ways of reconnecting with my soul and yours. The last few months, I too succumbed to "busyness" but thankfully a reminder came my way this morning and nudged ..... and I am glad I found my way back.

Nothing is as rich.
Nothing is more real."
