Being #50andFabulous : Post 3 - Rediscover. Redefine. Renew.

This might sound very cliched but there's no other way of saying it  ....

It's absolutely a fact. A fact that we all have to acknowledge if we want to continue to live our lives, not just go with the flow.

Let's face it - a lot of our earlier life goals have by now, either been achieved, ticked off or taken off the list as Life unfolded. And you are left looking at a blank page, wondering what's next?

A blank page can be depressing - there's nothing on it or a blank page can be encouraging - there's so many ways in which you could fill it! Depends on what prisms you prefer to look through.

I personally am excited (almost to a point that I have to be told many a time, to calm down!!) with the possibilities, the opportunities that lay before .... I take my time to explore many avenues and then try and shortlist 2-3 areas that seem to fit nicely into what I would like to do more of, going forward, aside of the routine.

Now, I allow myself to rediscover
- things that used to mean a lot to me, but somehow got left behind as I got busy with Life
- connects that were very close but somehow got disconnected as I moved on to newer things
- the many small but meaningful pleasures of life that always put a smile back on my face, no matter what

Now, I have experienced Life enough to be able to redefine
- who I am, who I want to be remembered as
- who or what remains a priority in my space and who or what needs to fall off
- my wants, my needs, my aspirations, my goals

And now that I have lived more than half of my life, I feel I am able to renew
- my zest for the next chapter that has so much possibiity
- my wish to give back some of what I have humbly received
- my promise to make every breath going forward, matter

So, I see new dreams, set myself new goals that make me happy to get out of bed each morning. I am quite sure not all of them will materialize but that doesn't take away the pleasure of believing they might.

This is, to me, the key to living the next chapter - the way you've always wanted to, deep down within you.

Like a child gradually sets new patterns of his / her choices, we can do the same if we open our minds and not get bogged down by expectations - sometimes our own or that of the so called "others"! As I keep telling my friends, now's the time to get that fancy bike you've always wanted to, or join that salsa class you wanted to or travel to places you've only dreamed of, with people who make you laugh and happy. You can and you are bound by little.

Rediscover yourself.
Redefine your ways of living, loving and giving.
Renew your enthusiasm for all things you hold precious.

It's a blank new page - crisp with potential. Dive into that box of crayons with childlike enthusiasm and find your true colors.

You are in a premium club now and you are fabulous <3
Shine on!
