The Next Chapter

In Dec last year, in my last post here, I had earmarked 2019 as my year of Renewal.
(Clearly that has taken a lot of efforts - given that I had disappeared from around here for more than 6 months!!!!)

So where am I now?

I am at the cusp - of The Next Chapter, of My Next Chapter.

And what exactly does that mean?

It means that I have been tying the loose ends of my current chapter and readying myself for a transition;  a life transition into what could well be the last and most fulfilling chapter of this book.

Am I there yet?
No.

Am I ready?
Yes. Oh yes!

As a person, I often describe myself as "a learner, always".

Despite my grey hairs, I still need to learn and thankfully the world has so much newness to offer. So I have taken stock, looked back to see what more needs addressing there and looked ahead to see what opportunities lie ahead that excite me. I have identified priorities for now, identified paths to explore for tomorrow and made peace with the stuff I cannot change.

I am dealing with today but looking forward to shaping a tomorrow that will bring me joy and satisfaction. How much of that will happen is not within my sole control but preparing for it, is. Have I the answers to all my questions? Hell, no! But I do know the segments of my life that need more focussed attention now and I am beginning to see the kind of landscape that will fill my life with all that matters to me, going forward.

I know what I know and I know what I need to know.
And that brings an amazing energy and a sense of peace at the same time.

In my coaching practice, I have often used this principle - that if you are uncomfortable in your current space, there's probably a good reason for that and its best you try and understand the root cause. Sometimes you can do something about it, sometimes you can't - but even the knowledge, itself, helps to manage the discomfort.

If there's a constant buzz at the back of your mind, maybe it's time to change some things.

If here's beginning to be not as comfortable as it used to be, where is?

What does The Next Chapter look like, for you and for those that matter to you?

Take an empty sheet and fill it with all your deepest aspirations, your hopes, even your worries. Give it a shape. Use all the colors you want. Feel what it does to you.

Then look around you and see what you want to change / tweak/ alter and by when.

Prioritize and commit.

And lo! you have started shaping your tomorrow.
Just as I am shaping mine.
Little by little, we will all get there - where we are meant to be.

Never, ever stop dreaming <3
