For my little Princess .....may you always be a Queen....

My little one turns 17 at the stroke of midnight....

 My princess takes one more step further into her young life ..

 And I raise my hands in solemn prayer for her, I thank my Lord for bringing her into my life, the reason I continue to breathe today ....and I pray for Him to keep holding her hand as He has stood by me, to keep her healthy and happy always - to help her become a "good" human being.

 This note is for you, my baby....
Dear Princess, 

 I love you. I always have. I always will. No matter what ....

 This last year, you have achieved quite a few significant milestones - I am proud of you, you should be too. 

 However, the last few months have brought strong winds, that have moved and changed a lot for you - you have been disappointed...hurt...dejected....

 But, that, unfortunately, is Life, my love!

 You have to take the good along with the bad. You are an young adult now - my little Princess is gradually becoming a Queen.And as you add 1 more year to your memories, I wish you the following:

 - May you always live with your head held high - never arrogant or hurtful to others, but high in your self-esteem and confident in your strides ahead.

 - May you always love - life, special people, dogs, books, Harry Potter, TV series, high heels, etc etc - may your cup always be full of whatever is special to you at every step of your life.

 - May you always dream - of things that are important to you and may they steer to you work towards bigger and better things. May stardust follow you wherever Life takes you.

 - May you always be thankful and humble - always remember people who were there for you, relationships that helped you through rough waters and made good times better. Above all, may you always remember the One Above that helped you come into this world when most had given up hope. You are His special child - may you live like one.

 You were born a Princess - may you always live your life like a Queen!


Always wear your invisible crown, Princess...Happy 17th Birthday.

And so I am richer ....today! When I was very young and in convent, I learnt the following..... "Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.” And I have felt it all my life, even today.... When someone tells me that I have been able to touch his / her life in some way - however small and  insignificant or big and meaningful - I feel richer, happier, more blessed and more humble! Each such feeling in my relationships translate into treasure troves for me - that I would like to keep locked within my heart, till I take to my grave....and even beyond. Of building and breaking ....

I am sure we have all learnt something this year - good, bad or ugly.  So much has changed - some we were able to manage and some not at all. Yet the year has listened to no one..... like tsunami, it has crashed on our unprepared shores and created a lot of deep wreckage, some that probably can be restored / revived and a lot that has changed forever.  One of my many learnings this year has been this :  We spent most of our lifetime building bridges and then either breaking them or having to walk away. Only a handful, if at all, of the bridges we built in our lifetime, remain unchanged .....  And I don't mean this in a negative manner, I say it as it is - the way Nature and Life intended it to be, perhaps.  One of my recent joys has been gardening, though I have the smallest of space to use.
